Like so many children growing up in Australia, reptiles were a ever present part of an outdoor lifestyle.  I'll never forget the day spent in our study trying to remove a rather large and grumpy Blue-Tongue from under the day bed.  Similarly, we had a massive Pogona barbata who would make use of our fence to bask each morning.  We even named him (Maurice) and would marvel at his seeming indifference to our presence.

Speaking with many reptile keepers over the years, its seems apparent that many have followed the path I did to become involved in the hobby.  I kept aquariums for many years but eventually wanted a new challenge.  I had been fascinated with reptiles for a long time and the progression seemed a natural one.  I eventually settled on two gorgeous baby Bearded Dragons and haven't looked back since.  Like most other keepers, I'm still learning about the 'hobby' and look forward to talking with you all about your experiences.
