Super Orange Pepper RPMs

The number and variety of RPMs in Australian Herpetoculture is growing rapidly.  The exciting new range of morphs has captured the imagination of both new and established keepers alike.

Not least of these new RPM varieties is the 'Orange Pepper' and 'Super Orange Pepper' produced by Dr. Simon Stone of Southern Cross Reptiles.
Dr. Stone remarks "The Orange Pepper was named by SXR to describe progeny derived from crossing a Coastal RPM and a Caramel Coastal Carpet Python.  Both snakes are a product of simple co-dominant genes. The resultant double het offspring have extremely reduced black markings and typically an attractive orange to yellow background colour."
The Super Orange Pepper is the result of the crossing of Orange Pepper with either a Caramel Coastal Carpet or another Orange Pepper.  In the case of the 'Super' both parents donate the Caramel gene to the het offspring.

Dr. Stone writes, "In the case of the Super Orange Pepper, the het RPM receives the Caramel gene from both parents so that it is double recessive for Caramel and the black markings are reduced even further."
At Premier Pythons we have decided to breed the resultant Super Orange Pepper offspring to hopefully provide the hobby with even more varied and exciting pythons from this stunning line. Please click the images at right to enlarge them.
